Seasoned Buttermilk

You will need these ingredients:

Curd - 1 and 1/2 cups
Water - 1/2 cup
Green Chillies - 3
Ginger - 1/2" piece
Garlic - 4 cloves
Turmeric - 1/4 tsp
Jeera Powder - 1/2 tsp
Curry Leaves - 1 sprig

Method:

1. Beat the curd with water in a blender.
2. Heat oil and crackle some mustard seeds. Make the chillies, ginger and garlic into a coarse paste and fry for 2 minutes in the heated oil.
3. Add curry leaves, turmeric, jeera powder and one red chilly cut into big pieces. Stir for another minute.
4. Lower the flame and add the butter milk and salt.
5. Remove the pan from the fire as soon as the butter milk is added else it would cause the butter milk to split.
6. Serve hot with rice.
