You will need these ingredients:
Finely powdered Rice Flour - 3/4 cup
Finely powdered Urad Flour - 1/4 cup
Fenugreek powder - 1 tsp
Water - enough to make the batter
Salt to taste
Method:
1. Mix the rice flour, the urad flour and the fenugreek together.
2. Add water and make a smooth batter without lumps.
3. The batter should not be too stiff. It should be of pancake consistency
4. The mixing can be done using a spatula or a hand blender at low speed.
5. Keep the dough covered in a warm place and let it rise for 8 hours (overnight).
6. Heat a non-stick tawa to medium heat.
7. Pour a spoonful of batter on to the tawa and spread it to a round.
8. Add in some ghee and increase the flame.
9. Let the dosa cook for a few seconds until golden brown.
10. Use a flat ladle and remove the dosa from the tawa.
11. Serve hot with Chutney.
Note:
If you are using an iron tawa, you may have to coat it with oil and heat it to high before pouring in the batter.
This Recipe would make about 6 medium sized dosas.

DeleteThe other option is to buy the whole dal and get it ground in the mill. After you wash the urad dal make sure you dry it well in the sun before getting. Else the ground powder will turn coarse.
